Dr. Doug Maughan (Religious Professor at S&I) & Dr. Ben Shapiro (of Hebrew University Jerusalem)
Brother Maughan and his wife Jennifer are parents of 10 children and currently reside in Cache Valley, Utah. He has Directed tours for BYU Travel and Destinationsinc. Since 1997.
Brother Maughan has taught in the Church Educational System for over 32 years and currently teaches Institute at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. Brother Maughan received his MA from Northern Arizona University and his Doctorate at ASU. He Runs Marathons and Triathlons and Directs Humanitarian Expeditions.

S&I Egypt Itinerary: June 9-15, 2021
Your day by day itinerary is a partial list of your tour. The itinerary below is subject to change as needed at any time to accomplish everything we can in each area we visit. We will have local guides who will make sure we see the very best in the time we have.
Day 1 (June 11-12): Fly to Cairo

Everyone will fly on our international flight to Cairo, Egypt.

Day 2 (June 13): Cairo
After, clearing customs in Cairo, Egypt we will transfer to our hotel. Depending on arrival times of the groups flight we may visit the modern city of Cairo and the step Pyramid of Djoser before going to our hotel.

Day 3 (June 11): Cairo
We will tour the Cairo Museum which houses the greatest collection of Egyptian artifacts anywhere in the world; including King Tut’s Treasures. We will also visit the Pyramids of Giza, built over four thousand years ago and the only remaining wonder of the ancient world. We will then see the Sphinx. If time permits, we will have a chance to shop at the Cairo Bazar. Bring plenty of Baksheesh. We'll have an overnight train ride to Luxor.

Day 4 (June 12): Luxor
Luxor is more impressive than Cairo and the Pyramids! You will marvel at its sheer grandeur and its monumental architecture and excellent state of preservation. This morning we will visit the Valley of the Kings, site of the tombs of the Pharaohs. In the afternoon we will visit the best ruins in Egypt –Karnak! We will also visit Luxor and the Hatshepsut temples one on each side of the Nile.

Day 4 (June 13): Cairo
Nile Boat ride to Abydos, Dendera; Train ride back to Cairo

Day 5 (June 14): Cairo to Tel Aviv
